The February Survival List– A Recap:
1. CA weekend – done!
2. WA to MI move – done!
3. Host Wine and Cheese to make Feb suck less party – done & done!
4. Host at least 1 craft night – nope, guess I’ll move that to March
5. Upstairs Bedroom #2 project – I thought about it, I made a list about it, I broke it down into reasonable stages… and I didn’t end up having any time or energy to even start. Fail
6. Take vitamin D daily – I took it… once… in January… fail.
7. Deal with inevitable post-trip crime spree (Maggie) – done (only one tiny incident- which is miraculous! Thanks to Owen for keeping her so happy and loved while I was gone!)
8. Catch up on some post-trip quality time with Suzie – done
9. Make some baby gifts – done
10. Read book club book – done
11. Silent retreat – done (thank God for silent retreats!)
12. Go ice skating – fail
13. Munchkin sleepover – fail (Luckily I didn’t promise anything specific to the munchkins- just told them I have a lot of work to do on their bedroom, to which Jane responded very seriously that she would help me rip up carpet. I might just take her up on the offer.)
14. 10 Minutes of Writing per day – did this faithfully the first 4 days of February and was really enjoying it… and then other stuff got in the way and I fell off the wagon hard. Maybe I’ll try this again in March.

So… I did some of the stuff on my list. I recovered from some of those big things (ish). And I missed a lot of things on the list. But here we are, on the last of February, and I haven’t quite lost my mind in this cold, dark winter and so I guess we say it is a success – I did survive February.

~ Psalm 103 ~
Bless the LORD, my soul; all my being, bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, my soul; and do not forget all his gifts,
Who pardons all your sins, and heals all your ills,
Who redeems your life from the pit, and crowns you with mercy and compassion,
Who fills your days with good things, so your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The LORD does righteous deeds, brings justice to all the oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses, to the Israelites his deeds.
Merciful and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger, abounding in mercy.
He will not always accuse, and nurses no lasting anger;
He has not dealt with us as our sins merit, nor requited us as our wrongs deserve.

For as the heavens tower over the earth, so his mercy towers over those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our sins from us.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.
For he knows how we are formed, remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like the grass; he blossoms like a flower in the field.
A wind sweeps over it and it is gone; its place knows it no more.
But the LORD’s mercy is from age to age, toward those who fear him.
His salvation is for the children’s children, of those who keep his covenant, and remember to carry out his precepts.

The LORD has set his throne in heaven; his dominion extends over all.
Bless the LORD, all you his angels, mighty in strength, acting at his behest, obedient to his command.
Bless the LORD, all you his hosts, his ministers who carry out his will.
Bless the LORD, all his creatures, everywhere in his domain.
Bless the LORD, my soul!
